In another case of "two countries separated by a common language"...when I first read Ray's post, I thought the "Tow Bar" device he was looking for (as it is commonly known here), was for the
front of his vehicle and used for a hard connection to a tow vehicle (often seen here as the manner in which self-driven big camper owners connect and bring along their small secondary vehicle). As an example, see:

...but now it is clear to me he is looking for what we call here a "Trailer Hitch". In that case, A69's offer, once media-blasted and given a new coat of paint, should do the trick nicely.
