Have a good look through the diagnostics. Whilst I don’t think that a reset function exists, maybe there is something hidden that I missed. You can get into the diagnostics yourself via the BACK and ENTER buttons: from a cold boot, press BACK ENTER BACK ENTER BACK END continuously during the boot up process to get into diagnostic mode.
Then explore the menus.
Other things to try:
Insert an older DVD with an older OS. This will hopefully force an OS downgrade and may bring it into a clean update mode.
Of course, you need to have an older DVD. Ask on the Forum if someone in your area has a dvd to try.
