I think your local Volvo dealer may be able to provide a HID for circa £100, but I went to a local parts supplier and bought one for £50 - just check that the bulb is specced to the appropriate 'temperature' - the higher the figure, the more blue the light will look - I think the appropriate spec is around 4500 - 5500 for the XC90. You can check this in the Handbook.
