quick tip 1: to stop the hub from turning whilst you have both hands on the puller, leave the car in gear and the opposite wheel on the ground.
quick tip 2: tighten the puller as much as you can and leave it like that (under tension) for a couple of minutes. finish your beer and then give it one more turn. it should pop off..
YMMV but this worked a treat for me.
