Both the Bosch and Lucas alternators have built-in regulators too. Normally Denso are reliable but they do suffer premature failure of the rectifier which in turn takes out the voltage regulator. Other than that, they tend to be extremely reliable but each of those alternastors have their own Achilles heals, with the Lucas it's voltage reg and bearings (both easily renewed) and the Bosch, rectifier and bearings.

The advantage of the Lucas and Bosch is they should fit the original dynamo mounts without modification, if memory serves the Denso needs different mounts.
