That's for the mainstream cars, can't see them enforcing it for a one off special edition which accounts for less than 1% of sales. They could sink companies when there are specialist components which fit no other spec. in the range.
Try pricing up a front set of disks, pads and callipers for a Polestar S/V60. If they are sold out 8 years after the last car goes out the showroom would they really have to retool the supplier to produce another batch ? Would you want to buy such spare parts with that additional cost ? It may be legislation but the market would probably say you know what, at that price you can keep it mate.
