Ashok, would another ECU go into my car without any problems like on older 850's etc?
Or will I have to have my RICA de-soldered to have Marco work his magic?
Nope, unfortunately, the EMS2000 units are coded to each car (using a unique 16 digit PIN!!) so you will not be able to swap them between cars (the immobiliser transponder will not work). You'll need to find out whether RICA use protection / encryption boards with their soldered EPROMs. If they don't then it may be possible the bench flash the ECU and overwrite the existing RICA software but it will mean it will be gone for good (unless you get the EPROM lifted and "emulated" beforehand). If you're unsure, I would warn MTE about the issue so that they can be prepared to "lift" the EPROM if they need to.
