Yes, that is possible but I've not found a single dealer here who is willing to do that (most cite "security issues", whatever that means)! You can get the code blanked out in Sweden but that would entail buying another ECU. I got that done as I wanted a spare ECU to be written specially for track usage and yes, the ECU "locks" itself to the car when first plugged in as it learns the immobiliser code. The procedure can be applied to both stock and remapped ECUs because the immobiliser parameters (and anything related to security) are left untouched.
