In theory this is a simple process, but you do need either an assistant or a broom-handle to support the tailgate - even on the late cars with an aluminium tailgate the tailgate is heavy. Do the struts one at a time.
Remove the clips from the ends of the strut: The door end is held on by a "speed-nut" type of clip that will prise off with a flat-bladed screwdriver; while a pair of pliers is needed to remove the ball-joint end clip and you may need your flat-bladed screwdriver again.
Installation of the new struts is a simple matter of push-fitting them to the mounts and re-fitting the clips.
