Amazing power for a 1.6d.

So happy, and excited.
Hope you got a good deal!

5 years worth of servicing will come in at ~£1410 for a D2 (according to Volvo's price indicator). New cars can have a 5 year service pack for £500 = £900 saving. You can get ~£3000 off a list D2 R-design via a broker. Finance on a new car is also often much cheaper, 4.9% for new vs often 10%+ for second hand - of course you can lower that by getting a loan via a bank if you qualify for the low rates many now offer.

Adding that up - £900 services saving, £3000 broker saving, finance saving - I'd want about £4,500-5000 off the list price just for starters, nevermind taking account of the age and mileage. And I never saw any V40 cars on Selekt that seemed good value to me as a result, it's partly why I ended up with a S60 (felt nearly new were much better deals than even a V40 nearly new).
