Hi The D5 is a 2.4 not a 2.5,
anyway the car uses a VNT turbo, it should respond very fast, no lag,
If the car is a 163 bhp ,
get a mightyvac vacuum pump, so you can run some tests,
you need to test if the vnt actuator is working,
if all pipes and engine mounts are good, I would say the vnt assembly in the turbo is not moving and needs cleaning,
there is videos on youtube about this as it is very common,
if you take to Volvo they will try and sell you a new turbo,
