Wow, I am baffled by amount of things Volvo changed to worse between 1st and 2nd gen of S40... it feels like every single thing that was easy to fix/solve/sort out on my 03' model is made difficult/impossible on 2nd generation... way to go Volvo :/

Anyway - thanks for this info, very useful, will save me some time if I decide to do so and will most likely follow advice and do it from underneath the carpet.
