I'm no expert...
I've been doing the 3L drain/replace and it seems to be going well for now; I've got 2 more to go. Also, I have no idea how long it'll take the TCM to adapt.
If Volvo did this for you, I think part of the work would include taking the car out for a spin with new oil to adjust the adaptions via a computer.
