Does anyone know what might be holding it back for me? My driving is pretty eco friendly as I am one of these weirdo's that obsesses about maximising the MPG.
What could be holding it back is:

Hills
driving at over 65 mph
short trips
Heavy loads
low tyre pressures ( try 38 psi )
Cold weather
Accelerating hard

you should be able to get 70 mpg cruising at 65 mph on the motorway for long distances .
