You MUST use 2 axle stands , have the rear wheels hanging down..
Remember leaving the car in gear or P has no braking effect whatsoever when one wheel on the driving axle is jacked up or on soft ground ! KEEP IT SAFE !
If you are doing a front wheel drive car rear brakes the front will not be stable still able to rock back and forth a bit in gear , use 4 chocks behind and in front of the front wheels This is a general warning rather than specific . So easy to loose an arm or leg when a car falls on you with sharp backplates and discs coming down on you .
