XC90 Help, 2 issues unknown wire (image included)
Hi,im new to the forum and i have a couple of issues with my 2005 D5 volvo xc90, which i have just purchased as a run about.
Firstly, could anybody tell me what the wire/cable connector is for in the image. Its just hanging lose under the bonnet, on the right hand side of the vehicle as you look down.
Also i bought the car with a known fault. When i put the foot down, all seems fine, however the orange triangle comes on and "Engine System Service Required" text appears as a message. Code 042
After a couple of journeys , the message dissapears but always comes back when i rev the vehicle high by booting it.
The car has done 199K and has full service history.
What i have checked after reading the forums..
Air filter --- Looks clean to me
Cleaned the EGR valve and pipes the best i can. ( it looked like it has been done recently)
Swirl arm --- Im no expert but the arm was connected and it moved when i revved it.
I have ordered a new fuel filter , oil and oil filter as it was last done 9k ago according to the sticker.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
