Yeah.. I've had exactly the same scenario. MOT's are subjective.. I got pulled on a trailing arm bush a year or so back, and to be honest there was no more play than the previous year when it passed. Zilch..

Anyway, I bit the bullet and changed both sides. I can't afford to pay others and I have the skills so I had to get stuck in. They'll see the car out now anyway.

As the other guys have said, and you've acknowledged.. if there's no substantial movement the car should pass. I think my failure was purely due to someone getting out of bed the wrong side and desperately looking for something to pick on..
