If it is similar or the same as the v/xc70 then you should be able to do it with a couple of wires with female spade connectors at one end of each. You can use a spare car battery or even a small 9v battery. I even carry a couple of wires and small battery in the car now so that I can still move the car if it won't re-start for any reason.
If you are wary of that method then the example thread points to a video showing how to do it manually ( the official volvo way) when you don't have access to VIDA.
