Having tried to live without a Volvo for a couple of weeks now, I realise resistance is futile and I need another, perhaps newer and a bit quicker replacement....

Into the minefield !
- the lesser-spotted fair deal looks hard to come by thats for sure....

Has anyone experienced Facebook Marketplace ? What a freak show !

I've been buying (and naturally selling) cars for 25 years now and recently I've noticed a distinct change in behaviour with the anonymity of the internet.
I was in Kendal this afternoon to look at a 2006 V70 in Green (have a look, its on eBay) that is described as 'Everything works as it should' and 'Long MOT' (Actually 19th of April !).....

and found the following with the limited time I had with the car....

1. Aircon dead
2. Bulbs out
3. Interior lights dead
4. Roof lining hanging down at rear
5. Sunroof leaking
6. Passenger window jerky and failing to seat/close properly
7. Rear wiper inop
8. Noise from Cat
9. Alloys mashed with Ditchfinder tyres
10. Central roof module hanging by a wire (like a fun cot mobile as you drive)
11. Clutch slipping
12. Water in load area
13. Engine top mount perished
14. Broken window switches and vents

Plus who knows what else...

The car had stuff GROWING out of the vents and IS, in general, a hound.
That should be put to sleep.
So if that one is in your Watch List, save your train fare.

The thing was, the vendor couldn't have been less concerned and the ad remains unchanged.

I happened to be in Kendal for a couple of days break so called in on the way back to Lincoln, but if I'd have make the 3 hour journey especially to see that car, I would have been ever so slightly ****ed off.
