The electric lock switch on my 64 plate V60 has decided to stop unlocking/opening the boot. Has anyone had a similar problem?

I took my V60 in for a service at a volvo dealership a few weeks ago, the tailgate lock worked fine before it went in, then had a phonecall to say it wasn't working?!

I've done some research and the closest I've come to solving it is: the tailgate lock may be linked to the glove compartment, and some volvo models have a system where if one is locked the other becomes locked. Could this have malfunctioned ?

I have been quoted in excess of £400 for a new lock (fitted) but, luckily the dealership agreed to split the cost as neither of us know how/why it happened.
