Having already posted my recent re-map details on another thread I won't post them again here, but what I will say, in a neutral manner, is that when deciding on and choosing my "Mapper" I spoke to and researched a lot of tuning houses concerned in tuning Volvo’s, some seemed clued up, some used out dated technology, and some gave really misleading advice...Hamish, being one of the ones who gave the latter, apparently did you know that if you remove the cat from a T5 or fit a high flow cat, it will have no difference to performance gains when it is Re-maped, it will use bucket loads of fuel as a result, because when the MIL comes on it will run in Limp mode??? No!Neither did I???
Yes, the MIL light did come on and threw an OBD P0420 code (as I expected it would) It didn't alter fuelling what so ever and it didn't run in limp mode, I can't comment on the performance side of things about removing the cat etc after a re-map as it was all done before the Map, but what I can say is that the Turbo spooled a hell of a lot quicker with just the standard Map....
….Basically I found him by accident as I was looking at a RICA Mapper and came across his site, (although he said he had had some problems with RICA and has since moved away from them) but he could offer me a custom map for £399.00 or a RICA PPC at an overly inflated £700, this is the first time I had ever heard of or spoke to him and the only dealing I have ever had with this person and it was over the telephone, hence to say, I didn't bother calling him back......
