I found two bits letting the rain in....

1) The two plastic 'bumpers' the rear hatch closes on to. This was solved by removing the plastic trim and carpet and then using silicone sealant from inside the boot.

2) Seal around the rear light cluster, this is foam and degrades over time. Remove the light cluster before cleaning the seal and adding a line of silicone or plumbers mait around the openings.

Bear in mind that if there is a significant amount of water you may need to remove the seats and carpet to get them dry. If you do this ensure you disconnect the battery before the seats are unplugged or you get an SRS warning light.
