In a post above (#16) you showed two parts which fell out of the lock mechanism. Is the black one either rubber or plastic?
I had proposed using Lock-Ease to lube the ignition cylinder and so to test this I sprayed some into the key-hole on my V70, even though my lock works fine. I thought I sprayed a small amount, but after the application the car sat unused for a couple of days in 40 C temperatures and when I drove it I found a strong odor of petroleum lubricant. I hope I did not get gross excess of hydrocarbon fluid into places and onto plastic parts where it shouldn't be. Hydrocarbon oils can damage certain kinds of plastic or rubber. I got out my shop vac and vacuumed the lock mechanism.
I now think only dry graphite powder should be used on these locks.
