Very difficult to distinguish as the fire burnt the wiring.Hard to tell which melting and scorching was caused by shorting and which was burnt in the resultant fire as you can see in my last photo. The good news is that nothing inside the cabin was affected so I don't need to rewire much. Only the wires which came from the regulator and the grey 2.5 from start motor to ignition switch. the main battery lead to start motor and I already have a spare. The damage apart from the hood and engine bay although looking awful is really superficial. The repair cost minimal. It's not a big deal to lift out the engine and strip the bay clean. hardest part, only because it's awkward,difficult to get to the mounting screws in the footwell.Time is not a problem. Life goes on.
