I think we have to be careful when describing cars as classics or collectable when we are enthusiasts for that particular car. I have written about this in the club magazine and my view is that the 940 is not a classic, nor remotely collectable. What it is is a car of utility, and very good ones command decent money for a small minority who value it's range of abilities - near zero depreciation and low running costs.
Average and poor cars ("a good workhorse") will only attract tradesmen who value the load capacity and cannot afford or want a good van. Values are only rising (if they are) for only the very best cars.
