Default V40 Aerial replacement

Wendy Thomson asked me if I could make a guide of how to replace the aerial on a phase 2 (2000-2004) V40. So here it is. I have attached the instructions from VADIS all the way in the bottom so you can have a read through them.

However, I did mine slightly differently and removed less bits to gain access to the aerial base. I chose to only remove the bits from one side only and not both sides. I had enough room to access the aerial base, and I found it unessessary to repeat the whole process on the other side of the car too

Remove the speaker cover and the light and disconnect it. If you have the dog guard fittings, remove the two screws and it will come out

Undo the two screws pointed by the yellow arrows and carefully unclip the panel which is held by two clips (see next photo too)

Remove this black clip

There is some adhesive double side tapeor something holding the roof lining at the edge of the boot. Carefully undo that until you can see the clamp. This clamp was a bit tricky, until I actually checked VADIS. VADIS says to turn it 1/4 of a turn and remove. Also see next picture

Remove the rear Grab Handle. You need to unclip the plastic cover and undo the 2 bolts. Then carefully lower the roof lining taking care not to crease it. Undo the nut securing the aerial base and you are done

Hope this helps
