Default Seized Wiper Spindle

Not done one on a Volvo but it looks similar to the mechanism on the front of a VW Golf Mk4.

Mine had seized (on the driver's side) so I removed it and soaked in various light oils and WD40 and then removed the circlip and gently persuaded it to move backwards out of the bush with a "Birmingham screwdriver" with a combination of gentle taps backwards and forwards combined with using Stilsons to twist back and forth.

It took a while but I didn't want to break the cast bracket so took a couple of days of soaking and gentle movement in small increments.

I did break the circlip but had to reuse what was left of it and so far it has lasted a couple of years.
