Welcome back. While I don’t have the expertise of Rob, a suggestion might be to look at rebuilding your valve, or replacing with a new one. Last I looked they were available, as well as the kits. I’ve read over the years that eliminating the valve can be a risky proposition. They are part of the braking system for a good reason.
