As a guide, my S60 (MY2007 D5) had it's first (18,000 mile) service in Greer's and this was £250 for what was basically an oil and filter change (including the cabin filter) plus the usual checks (pads, tyres etc.). Don't think SMW in Belfast would be cheaper. The biggest cost was labour followed by oil (6.2 litres of fully synthetic).
I'm stuck with the dealer because of warranty, but if your outside of this, i would go to a good independent. If you don't have any problems, there's nothing particularly complicated. You could buy the Volvo filters, the dealer uses Castrol oils which a widely available (your handbook should specify what you need) or if you post you model year / engine spec. someone will post the right spec.). You could also try
www.castrol.com (choose UK site from drop-down on front page and then choose 'find right oil for my car' - you can go by reg. no. or model).
