As mentioned sounds fishy, I would ignore it and avoid contact.

IMO, anytime I have bought a car, I travel in person, either pay cash or make arrangements to ensure funds can be arranged by a bankers draft etc. Never had any issues with this and sellers have always been happy to wait a few days whilst I get the bank drafts made if not paying cash.
