I have not read of any accounts of this ever happening, and I have recently seen on here a new SPA Volvo police car with all sorts of electronic gizmo's attached including a dashcam. I would think they took advice before fitting out their new cars. Fitting a dashcam to the left of the pod out of line of sight of the driver is the most logical and safest place for it.
