You must get a gearbox from another AWD car as you need the transfer box drive.

Whilst the ratios maybe the same - the final drive are not - one from a petrol car would not be suitable. Not sure if the final drive differs between 60, 70 and 90 models. You should retain your ECU.

I have successfully dropped a number of gearboxes into XC90s from different year and model Volvo cars but always the earlier 5 speed AW55.
