Happened to me when I was a passenger in one of my own vehicles, my driver had actually put £20 of petrol in a diesel berlingo and drove for maybe 8 miles before it packed in, funnily enough right outside a shell, RAC man towed us in and we topped up with diesel, he then got the thing started and away we went, really the RAC man should have called out their "specialists" but I was happy to take his advice (off the record of course because they normally charge £200 to sort this kind of thing) and get on our way.

Our good friend here has been shafted imo and I feel for him
