I was interested in looking at the state of the inside of the EGR mixer pipe seeing pictures on here of how they can clog up.

While the pipe was off, I was also able to gain access to the turbo governor to give it a bit of a clean. Airflow through the inlet and outlet pipes of the turbo governor had very little restriction.

The state of the EGR mixer pipe wasn't too bad at all. It was a messy job indeed. If I were to have a go at it a second time, I probably would have just dipped everything in petrol.

With my vacuum pump, I drew a vacuum to the turbo actuator via the hose connected to the turbo governor outlet. The noises I'm hearing from the VNT ring don't sound healthy

Cleaned everything up, put everything back together, and took the car for a run.

No warning lights on the run. I'm still gaining confidence in pushing it a little bit harder. Perhaps an in-gear pull next time.
