How are spoilers usually held, I don't know. But perhaps. A form of double sided sticky tape?

I wouldn't be comfortable with double sided sticky tape holding the spoiler on!

The current solution I have (stainless steel Allen bolts screwed directly into M6 threads tapped into the plastic wing) works fine, and would probably be sufficient. I'd like to improve it by setting some metal inserts into the 8 holes in the plastic.

Rivnuts seem to be a good solution, I have not used then previously but this has been one of the advantages of this forum: if I have not known about something then someone else has. Many thanks (again) to Dave in this instance.
