The only reason for selling is that i have two other 850's. They are both diesels so are more useful to me. I do know my classic volvo's, so i have experience in knowing a good car from a bad one. This car is far from bad, however, you do have to bear in mind it is 22 years old and as such will require continuous maintenance like any other older vehicle.


Just had a full pcv system fitted. Both top strut mounts replaced. Top engine mount replaced. Engine oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter, gearbox oil change. Coolant flush and replacement. While i have been under the car i have had a good look at everything. The front and rear shocks, springs and ball joints are all good. The underneath of the car is in perfect condition. The rear bumper mounts are the only thing that has any rust at all and i am yet to see an 850 without rusty rear bumper brackets!

Also the small cog in the odometer has been replaced so the mileage is higher than the 128000 miles that is displayed in the cluster.

The car runs as it should with no knocks bangs or rattles. it drives straight, stops straight and has no known faults. The gearbox changes gear without any issues either. There is a sport and economy mode.

I have given this car a thorough looking over and i would say it is in better condition than average. The bodywork, although has a few minor scratches and scuffs on the bumper corners, is in far better condition than most 850's i've come across. There is a very small scuff to the rear wing where the petrol filler cap is but there is no body damage. It does not suffer from the usual body failings like drivers or passenger wing rot. I have even had my hand underneath the front wings to check the inside wings to see if there is rust from the inside trying to get out. This is perfect. The car is in near rust free condition, which isn't bad for a 22 year old car! The panel gaps all look good too.

The interior is light gray, full leather. There is some wear to the drivers seat but no holes, just some cracking to the leather and some minor fading to the vertical bolster. All in all the interior is well above average. The head lining is also near perfect with no sagging. The carpets have no wear and the boot area can only be described as immaculate. The tailgate also holds its own weight when lifted!

The car has a fully functioning electric sun roof, mirrors, front and rear windows and working air conditioning. The car also has heated front seats.

The only issues i am aware of is that the cd player is faulty with the led screen and the wheels do have a few curb scuffs around the edges. and the passenger front seat does not heat. It does also smell of smoke but is fading as time going by. I cannot think of anything that is missing or broken. Even the headlight wipers work. I have also valleted it within an inch of its life. i am going to try to take some photos today and work out how i can upload them. I believe I have priced this fairly, but time will tell. I have not advertised it anywhere else yet but will be doing shortly
