No it doesn't!

A vehicle can be driven untaxed to a pre-booked appointment for a test at the MOT garage/station but it would require insurance cover; that cover need only be third party liability which any insured driver has when driving a car that is not his own, but with the owners permission. So, get a car-owning pal to take the car for MOT and Bob's your mothers brother!
