What would stop this as I now believe it must be the problem? no fuel to the injectors.
i owuld not expect fuel at injectors if your just turnign the pump manually (ratchet, electric motor or whatever) as many engines need to see a crank AND cam signal before it will activate the injectors as it needs to know which turn o the crank the engine is on.

are you 100% sure its timed correctly?
Do you have a code reader - when cranking does it show an RPM - if not id suggest the crank sensor which could easily have been damaged when the timing belt went.
are there any codes stored
disconnect cam sensor and crank again - does it generate a code (to rule out a dodgy cam sensor)
will it run on a whiff of easy start? (to rule out mechanical issues)
Have you cracked an injector line when ranking on the key - any diesel?
