Hi

There are two stickies under the 60 Series forum regarding ETM failures which might help you.

On the USA versus UK thing this is because of the US 'Lemon Laws' which basically means you can get severe recompense or a new vehicle (any US member will be able to correct me here) should it be not fit for purpose. Something like the Volvo ETM failing (or for Saab it was their DI Cassettes) and they run scared in the US and change them all for free often with a recall.

Here in the UK we put up and shut up as usual. Whilst I do not want the US blame culture sue the ass of someone because their coffee was too hot syndrome here, we could learn a lot from the lemon law.
