I think the all-round confusion about boost pressure is also due to various units used - some use Bar, some Psi, some mbar and Vida itself report it in hPa.
I know its all easily transferable but I guess adds up to confusion... On top of that there is a huge discrepancy between average and peak boost, some may refer to first one, some to latter. If someone say "max boost" just because torque app registered 14Psi for a split second (happens to me) doesnt really mean its true.
Dont remember stock Psi myself - would guess from memory its 6-7. On s1 map my car registers 10.5 - 11 psi on long WOT, but its all related to IC temp and external conditions etc etc.
Oh and Welton - yes, BPS is mounted in knee going onto IC from driver side. In my case it was accessible and visible trough foglamp cover but it MAY differ on FL car. I really doubt its "bumper off" case, maybe just access from lift?
1060 hpa is a lot for ambient air pressure, thats true, had a quick look at all my logs and most were recorded in 990 - 1000 hPa reported in Vida as ambien pressure and in any case the "ambient" and "boost" pressure in the beginning were identical, but I never checked it against actual weather channel or something. Also it makes me wonder, if ECM registers both values - Ambient air pressure and Boost pressure, are both coming from the same sensor or not...
anyway - let us know if it halped! fingers crossed!!!
