You shouldnt use C spec oils in these. Its not good to run 18k oci's too if you value your engine and performance/economy, but each to their own.
However, use A5/B5 (or A3/B4 is fine too) not C spec.
C spec should be fully backwards compatible, but there are complications where it may not be, and both Total and Miller's have said to me personally -NOT- to use C spec, only full saps. I couldn't get the info as to why from them, but it was made clear during oil discussion.
