I then ran a VIDA MOST ring check which came back all OK.

I have a steady 14.4v at the supply plug, and there are no shorts evident on either of the antenna cables which might have upset the DABM module. Had a peek inside and there's no sign of water ingress or anything burnt.

I noticed that there are a number of ex-vehicle DABM units (part nr.31346184) available online. I don't really want to go the aftermarket (e.g Pure DAB) route really.

Question is, does anyone know for certain whether a replacement module would have to be coded into the vehicle by a dealer?

Thanks in advance,
Robin
A new unit would have to be loaded with an activation software yes. But a dealer wouldn't touch a used unit, It could cost them a lot of time and money .
