If you have it, I'd have a good look inside the old oil filter, see how it is. You could put some cheap oil through the car and do another change soon, see if it's looking better. You want as much of the **** out of it as possible because it's not going to be doing the engine anygood and at worst could help the oil pick up get blocked. Incidently, it may be worth cleaning the oil pick up if you dropped the sump.
