Have a similar situation with landrover swivel mounting bolts, 14mm bi hex bolt head behind the swivel ball preventing end on access, the hammer on ring spanner has yet to fail and landrover bolts are renowned for being made of soft cheese.

The photos are an S60 .. mines an XC 90 The bearing hub obscures the bolts .. Thanks anyway !
