Valuation:-

If I were you I'd contact the insurance company you wish to use, I don't know for sure how it is in the UK any more (been gone a long time) but here in Holland some insurance companies are picky about who does the valuation. Last time I looked here in (little) Holland there were two competing bodies.

It is a shame to spend money on a valuation only to be told by the insurance company that the valuation isn't the right kind.

In the good old days - back in the day - some UK insurance companies would agree a fixed value on the basis of photographs under a limt of what ever it was but I have no idea if that's still the case.

EDIT:-

Be wary about use of classic vehicles. Some policies won't insure you if you go to work in your classic for example. Classic cxar insurance has gone really picky - as for many other insurance situations it seems like the game is "not pay out if you can"...
