Orifice tube replaced in that service? Easy to do and often block up with all the junk from your old drier + chunky balls of refrigerant oil.

Might also be your evaporator is jammed up with junk thats fallen down the intake from the scuttle panel + mould & mildew + 20 years of dust = air does not flow through it well at all. Fan might not make any more noise but when you switch to AC on and the flap moves across the flow of air reduces, if that happens, evap time
