I finally got around to changing them... Christ almighty is that an easy job! Combine it with the change from Winter to Summer rims and tires and it could be done all the time...

Drove it around the block a little while ago: drives like a different car. The car doesn't sway/wobble so much around the curves now and the "plock plock" noise, caused by damaged ball joints have gone.

We bought the S80 about 3 years ago from a VW dealer and thought the top steering bearings were knocking, so we put it off as long as possible - like a new exhaust and sorting the lights out. As I was in the "cambelt change time mood" I simply claimed the S80 as "my tinker toy" and simply started repairing all that, what we hadn't been really interested in doing...

Tomorrow a good full car wash with all what can be done and after that a proper polish to get the car shining and sparkling and then it will be perfect...
