this is the real reason for it, the S60 is deemed or at least was at the launch the safest car in the world.
In my eyes currently from a safety point of view for your loved ones if you can afford it you either but a Volvo or a Tesla!
Checkout the videos of tesla's reacting to real world collisions, amazing tech in the car, for the first time in automotive industry I believe Volvo is playing catch up to another brand, er at least in crash avoidance situations.
