Well now i'm happy to report its hit the magic 250,000 mark. Its a little battered in places but everything is working (even one headlamp wiper)

I've now decided to "upgrade" to a slightly newer V50 so once i get chance to give the V40 a good clean and remove car kit etc i will have a think about whether to keep it for daughter to learn to drive in or to sell it on.

If we decide to sell it will be offered on here first along with the spares i have collected over the years as a s40 & v40 owner so watch this space.
For what it's worth, I gave mine to my daughter when she learned how to drive and she is refusing to drive anything else. She says it's like driving a little go-cart: nimble, small, manageable blind spots, bullet proof. My vote would be to keep for the kid...unless she is moving 2000 miles away like mine did, then it gets more expensive because it does require some ongoing TLC.
