As for shocks, the Bilstein B4s have a good reputation but if you decide to stay with the standard ride height, look for KYB shocks on fleabay, excellent shocks and good prices too.

i had a bad experience with Kilen springs but i don't know if it was down to the shocks or not...the ride was very 'bouncy' . BC coilovers are the way forward in my opinion.....pricey but worth it.
